Hurstville CNY - Volunteer Work.

Alright. Like. Urgh. The weather was hell bad, it rained like mad and when it didn't rain the air was so humid and thick you could probably slice a sword through it.

So, had volunteer work yesterday @Hurstville for Chinese New Year Festival. Woke up at... Er... 6:30am? ;D Got there at around 7:30. Got our tags, red shirt and this really ugly.. BUT USEFUL.. Green fisherman hat.

Once we were explained our duties blahblahblah it started heavy duty raining and when we were like 'fuck' they revealed to us PONCHOS TO WEAR.... Yay. :'D Notrly. Plastic.. Thingies.. That... Were hot... and strange.. and something THAT THE WIND LIKED BLOWING.

I think I'll stop posting so many pictures soon. Urghhhhhhhh. They take too much time. ): And plus, it takes effort too. D; So it'll be quick and short from now on. (:

Okay, so, continuing... All of us went around giving program booklets to people of the community--seriously does not surprise me how rude some asians are... and how nice some of them are. WEIRD MUCH. I handed this guy a program and although he looked like he was going to give it back to me he soon walked off. Then, I was informed by another member of my group that the man walked up to him and gave back the program saying in Chinese '...I don't want to hold this, it's annoying'

WTF BRO. TAKE THE DAMN BOOK FILLED WITH ASIAN COUPONS AND GO AWAY. GEE.

Bleck. The rest of the day was fruitless and nothing really happened.. Although we did frequently got wet and I shielded most of it by wearing my poncho and the fugly green hat--looked absolutely GAY. Whateverrr.

.. Hugeeeeeee hell unexpected accident happened and a stage guy doing the dragon dance fell from a pole 5m from the ground. He didn't take the brunt of the fall however, because he landed on a girl that was on the crew also but only watching. Ouch much. That is what I call being innocent. THIS is where us volunteers came in. We were to act as a man-wall to block any nosyidiots who wanted to see the fallen and hurt. I swear, people are really annoying. Not like they could help or anything and all they like to do is STARE. The idiots even took their umbrellas out under the rain to KEEP STARING. Bastards. The poor guy and girl. ):

God. You're taught how to FALL but you aren't taught what to do if someone falls on YOU.

It started raining slightly so a man took a huge gray plastic sheet and told us to hold it up to cover the people who got hurt. So we literally became a wall to hold up the "roof". Exactly as we stood it started RAINING HARD, we were all half soaked by the rain and when it was requested that we needed to lift the make shift roof higher; we got soaked completely. It was okay, I think, because for the first time yesterday I felt like I was doing something worthwhile.

About 45minutes later they were well packaged and sent off in the ambulance to the hospital. (:
While most of us were soaked... Our hair dripping and our volunteer shirt shades darker than usual. It was truly an OTL; sight.

There were more a bit more people but they had to leave half way during the day.
That's our volunteer team for this year! (:
